Coign is a Series B credit card company by Conservatives for Conservatives. Launched in 2022, Coign now has over 18,000 customers and is in growth mode.
Coign’s key competitive advantage is low CAC to acquire super prime customers. Competitors’ CAC for same customer is over $1,200; Coign’s CAC is under $100. Coign is using the Series B proceeds to drive growth. Coign’s customer base will total 30,000 by EOY ’24 and 75,000 by EOY ’25.
Coign’s leadership team consists of accomplished, seasoned, top-of-field executives from Republican politics, credit card industry, and investment banking. Coign’s culture is characterized as high competence, low ego, extreme ownership, and have fun.
Role description
The CMO will be a member of the Executive Team and will deliver account volumes to achieve growth goals while building a brand that will establish Coign as Conservative’s most beloved company.
The CMO will report to Rob Collins, Founder & CEO.
Location
Coign’s offices are in McLean, VA. There is a preference for a candidate who lives within the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia) metropolitan area or within an easy commute of the DMV. That said, this is a critical hire and Coign is open to a virtual office arrangement for an exceptionally outstanding candidate.
Responsibilities
-Create a compelling brand narrative that captures and tells Coign’s story to customers, investors, and employees. Build creative and messaging that thoughtfully bring the brand story to life in a consistent, coherent manner.
-Develop a brand kit, align organization around brand standards. Be an advocate and enforcer to ensure that everything Coign does is “on brand.”
-Develop marketing channels that are capable of scaling Coign to 1 million customers by EOY ’28.
-Provide accurate marketing campaign data (volumes, CAC by channel).
-Provide executive thought leadership across the organization to help Coign achieve its full potential.
-Represent Coign with professionalism, humor, warmth, resolve, and grit.
Qualifications
-15+ years experience in progressive roles of responsibility within marketing in an agency or an organization.
-Undergrad degree.
-Analytical ability to frame strategic problems, drive test design, quantify marketing results, and ensure efficient deployment of marketing investment.
-Business problem solver, practical, enjoys cracking tough problems.
-Demonstrated ability to build a brand that becomes a cornerstone asset for the company.
-Leadership and management skills to build a high performing marketing team.
-Highly collaborative, looks to leverage others to arrive at the best possible solution for the business.
-Solid command of marketing channels, communications, and messaging.
-Steep career trajectory characterized by increasing levels of responsibility and bona fide examples of driving massive value creation.
-Executive presence/gravitas, polished executive-level communication skills (written & oral)
