Seeking a top rate engineering leader to join a team focused on combating the skilled worker crisis by driving workforce productivity for employers, starting with a focus in U.S. skilled trades. What you'll be leading: + Developing early stage features and deploying testing for our core technology product, a vertical SaaS platform for maximizing workforce productivity in skilled trades + Designing and implementing full stack software architecture, functionality, and roadmap + Building out core product features and user interfaces for engagement and security + Building data pipelines to ingest relevant 3rd party data + Bringing values-centered leadership and deep belief in UpSmith’s mission for serving customers, partners, & employees of skilled trades businesses Technical knowledge, skills, and experiences we'd love to see: + 10x horsepower -- You have an output/input ratio an order of magnitude above a median candidate; you are a wizard in working across the stack with modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g. JavaScript/Typescript, React.) & platforms (e.g. AWS) + Builder/customer mindset – You are intellectually curious, eager to experiment / apply deploy cutting edge AI applications in customer contexts; you have 10+ years experience innovating as a software developer, including potentially as a former founder yourself; you are comfortable working in both small startup environments and big tech engineering culture and derive great joy from building valuable things in the world + Adaptability -- You are comfortable operating independently with limited direction and limited resources; you bring a top decile GSD factor and have experience operating on teams in high intensity, high performance environments + Mission alignment -- You believe deeply in the dignity of work; you have a desire to solve the skilled labor crisis and promote human flourishing across society Why you should join UpSmith: UpSmith is tackling America’s nearly 1 million skilled worker shortage in construction and manufacturing by building technology to improve workforce productivity.
